Salute Wairoa Touch Table
As we start the process of expanding to accommodate Wairoa Regional Digital Hub, there will be temporary changes to the library layout. In the meanwhile, Salute Wairoa Touch Table has been moved to the iSite. We thank you in advance for your understanding while this exciting development is taking place. Background
SALUTE Wairoa WWI00, after years of planning and local fundraising - gifted a 65” Ideum Touch Table on Thursday 15 September 2016 to the Wairoa Centennial Library. 995 Wairoa veterans have been honoured on the TouchTable Memorial, including a summary of all their service records, in itself a vast research contribution. 100 Service-people have been featured plus maps, memorabilia, films and personal stories complimented by thousands of photos. 60 Wairoa WWI Veteran families with sons and daughters alive, have contributed personal memories.
The Library’s brief in receiving the gift was to investigate ways to maximise the amazing capabilities of the touch table and engage all ages with the modern cutting edge technology. The Salute Wairoa group wished for the table to be used as widely as possible, bringing local information to life and increasing digital confidence.
